Accessibility statement
Prepared 13 October 2026
We want everyone to be able to use the TheatreHQ website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or who simply need things to be clear and easy to read. This statement covers theatrehq.com: our marketing pages, knowledge base and blog.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We don't fully meet it yet. The problems we know about are listed below, along with what we're doing about them.
What you should be able to do
- Zoom in to 200% and use the site on a phone without text being cut off or needing to scroll sideways.
- Move around the whole site with a keyboard. The first press of Tab on any page offers a Skip to content link past the menu.
- Use a screen reader. Pages use proper headings and page regions, form fields have labels, and images have text descriptions.
- Turn animations off. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site stops its scrolling and entrance animations.
How we tested
On 13 October 2026 we checked 14 typical pages, including the homepage, pricing, feature pages, the knowledge base, a guide, the blog, a blog post, contact and the page you see when a link is broken. We used the axe automated checker against WCAG 2.2 AA, and looked at every page by hand at phone, tablet and desktop sizes.
Automated checks find many problems but not all of them, so we'll keep testing by hand, including with screen readers.
Problems we know about
- Colour contrast. Some small orange labels, some lighter grey text and the pale text on our orange call-to-action panels don't have enough contrast with their background. We're darkening these colours across the site.
- Screenshots in guides. Our guides use screenshots of the TheatreHQ admin. The words in a screenshot can't be read by a screen reader, but every step is also written out in full in the text next to it.
- Videos. A few guides include YouTube videos, which may only have YouTube's automatic captions. Each of those guides also has the full steps written out.
- Things from other companies. Embedded YouTube videos and the WhatsApp chat link are provided by other companies, and we can't fully control how accessible they are.
Tell us if something doesn't work for you
